CHECKING OUT THE GIRLS

March

What's up guys?
It's a whole new year and now it's time to start fresh. January is the month of fresh starts, new years resolutions, and clean slates. You may notice that after about four months of school, you've probably gotten use to the routine, classes, and class mates (even that annoying kid that sits next to you). In short, you probably have already began to let your guard down. I remember when I was in school during this time, It seemed like pretty girls were everywhere and I was distracted more than ever.

Guys, are there ever anytimes that you're at school and you start checking out the girls walking through the hall. You begin to look at her, one second turns to two, than five, than ten. Before you know it, you begin to fantasize about her. How quickly that one second look downward spirals into a fantasy. Afterwards you say to yourself, "There's no harm in "Just Looking", i'm not hurting anyone." Well, let me share something with you guys.

This is what the Bible says:
"You have heard that it was said, 'Do not commit adultery. But I tell you that anyone who looks at a woman lustfully has already committed adultery with her in his heart."
- Matthew 5:27-28
That's heavy stuff isn't it.....but you see, Jesus talks about our heart in these two verses. When we look at a girl and start fantasizing with our eyes, your heart is what's being fed, and once these images and thoughts come into your heart, it becomes a part of you. You see, the enemy (satan) knows your weakness and knows that if he gets to you through your eyes, he can begin to get a grip on you. It's important for you to be on guard. Remember, we all make choices and it's your choice to turn away and not look at these things that tempt you. Here is a verse that you can memorize so that when you do face temptations, you can stand strong.

"Be on guard. Stand firm in the faith. Be courageous. Be strong." 1 Corinthians 16:13
